New Forum Logo

The Equestrian Forum of Wellington Board is pleased to present its new logo.

It represents an effort to brand the Forum and to establish, for our members, a voice for Wellington's equestrian community.

We are grateful that our membersship grows daily. The great geographic and socio-economic diversity of our membership represents the fact that Wellington's equestrian industry is global in reach. The Forum will continue to support equestrian venus and events for Wellington's equestrian preserve. It is our goal to support the growth of equestrian sport so that economic and job opportunities are created and that property values in the Preserve are enhanced.

Important 9/11 Equestrian Preserve Committee Meeting

Dear Members and Supporters,

The development application for the Global Dressage venue at Equestrian Village will be considered at the September 11, 2013 meeting of the Equestrian Preserve Committee. It is an open meeting and the public is encouraged to attend.  The meeting will be held at Village Hall at 6:00 pm.

As a recap, the Global Dressage venue is composed of an international dressage ring, covered arena, stables, derby field and supporting infrastructure. It has hosted two Global Dressage Festivals and other events during the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Although the venue was already built and operational, the Village Council revoked all approvals in May 2012.

As was the case in 2013, the 2014 Global Dressage Festival will be held using a seasonal "Special Use Permit".

The EPC meeting initiates a process to settle the litigation between Wellington Equestrian Partners and the Village over the revocation of approvals. WEP is seeking to use the facility year-round and to continue to hold the annual Global Dressage Festival, derbies and other competitions and activities for which the venue was originally approved and which have been held for two years on a temporary basis.

The approval applications will also be reviewed by the Planning, Zoning & Adjustment Board prior to the Village Council voting on the project. You will be notified of these meetings.
